Lemur Landings to collect boxes of Christmas joy this festive season

Buying those back-to-school shoes? Don’t throw away those empty shoeboxes, recycle them instead and deliver a very special gift to a child in need this Christmas.

This Autumn, Lemur Landings, one of the largest indoor soft play centres in Dorset, are supporting the worlds largest children’s Christmas project, Operation Christmas Child, to help deliver gift filled shoeboxes to children around the world.

The campaign, this year celebrating it’s 20-year anniversary and the delivery of 100 million shoeboxes, encourages people to donate shoeboxes containing simple gifts, which are then given to children in need throughout Africa, Central Asia and Eastern Europe.

Visitors to Lemur Landings between November 1st and November 17th can place their shoeboxes under a very special Christmas tree. The centre, an empire of indoor soft play for anybody aged under 12, situated at Tower Park, Poole, is open everyday between the hours of 9.30am and 6.00pm. Father Christmas will make a special appearance Sunday 17th November as he collects the Shoeboxes to complete what Lemur Landings hope to be a successful campaign. Everyone who donates to Operation Christmas Child will get a discount voucher for Lewey Lemur’s Christmas Party on 14th December 2013 and a small thank you gift.

Jackie Richmond, Group Marketing Manager for Lemur Leisure Ltd commented: “This is such a unique and worthwhile project, and we are delighted to be supporting Operation Christmas Child year. Lift Installation Elevates Accessibility for Less Able Visitors

New accessibility platform lift installed at Lemur Landings Soft Play Centre

Lemur Leisure Ltd is pleased to announce the installation of a new accessibility lift and toilet at Lemur Landings, one of the largest indoor soft play centres in Dorset.

Lemur Landings is passionate about play and actively committed to ensuring much better access for visitors with accessibility needs and also assist the many visitors who visit with buggies. The new platform lift, located within the centre’s café, will allow easier access to reach all of the centre’s facilities; including the café bar, upper levels of the play centre and the toilets; including a new accessibility toilet.

The project has been made possible thanks to a grant from the Borough of Poole’s Short Breaks for Disabled Children Capital Fund which has met the cost of the accessibility lift itself. The costs of the lift’s installation have been borne by the soft play centre’s parent company, Lemur Waterparks Ltd alongside accessibility toilet facilities. The Short Breaks Fund’s primary aim is to provide better opportunities for disabled children and young people & improve the quality and the overall capacity for Short Breaks. Projects accessing the Fund should improve access to services for disabled children and young people and improve the range of available provision for families.

Managing Director Alan Richmond says: “We’ve wanted to do this for a while but it’s an expensive business, however the grant has allowed us to bring this project forward and divert some money to enable us to install accessible toilet facilities also; this part of the project will be completed later on.”

Poole Short Breaks host the exclusive use of Lemur Landings soft play centre for families of disabled children every Tuesday between 6.15pm and 8.15pm. All ages and siblings are welcome. Please call 01202 714700 for more information.

Situated on Bournemouth and Poole’s premier entertainment complex, Tower Park, Lemur Landings is an empire of soft play for the Under 12’s; with a massive multi-level play frame; consisting of a multi-slide, bridges, tunnels, ball pools and cannons; a dedicated area just for toddlers; a super sensory area for the under 5’s and a climbing wall, children can run riot in a stunning environment whilst parents relax in the café.

If you would like to get involved with the project or visit Lemur Landings please call 01202 740500 or visit www.lemurlandings.co.uk for further information.

Children Set to Make, Party and Play as Families Prepare for Christmas Day

Lemur Landings releases magical Christmas calendar

Halloween has already passed and Christmas is quickly creeping up on the South Coast. With less than two months to go until that magical time of year, Tower Park’s ultimate soft play & themed party centre already has Christmas all wrapped up.

The festive season has already started at Lemur Landings. As the centre teams up with Operation Christmas Child as a drop off point for the world’s largest children’s Christmas project, visitors to the attraction between the 1st – 17th November can place their shoeboxes under a very special Christmas tree.

No Christmas would be complete without a visit from Santa and he will be making a special appearance on Sunday 17th November as he collects the gift-filled shoebox donations. He will be taking up his Christmas residency when he checks into his beautiful snowy Christmas Cabin with his favourite elves from Friday 6th December until Christmas Eve. Children can play in with the snow with the snowmen before visiting Santa and receive a special gift.
On Wednesday 27th November 2013, the centre plays host to its first ever Christmas Craft & Gift Fayre. With over 20 local sellers, offering a wide range of Christmas gifts and hand crafted products, face painting, festive treats and, naturally, Father Christmas – who is kindly taking a break from his busy schedule to pay us a visit, the event is surely the best place to get prepared for Christmas.

Adults go FREE to the Christmas Fayre, in aid of Julia’s House, with children charged at £3.00 per child (including time on the centre’s playframe) .

We’ve been informed that Santa is fond of a bite to eat, as his tummy will testify. So book a brunch and story with Santa in the diary; Sundays 8th, 15th & 22nd December.

If you are after more of a merry boogie woogie then join Lewey as he rocks around the Christmas tree and celebrates a holly jolly Christmas! Help him get his grove on at his Christmas-tastic Party on Saturday 14th December. With fun and games from Get Up & Groove’s themed disco and entertainment, a children’s buffet, fancy dress, spot prizes and of course the usual play time on the play frame, its sure to tire out the children and give you a silent night! An event not to be missed!

Jackie Richmond, Lemur Leisure Ltd’s Group Marketing Manager says, “We are so excited about Christmas. With our magical winter wonderLand and Santa’s cabin such a huge success last year we are again offering our visitors a magical winter experience without the need to wrap up warm or be out in the cold. Christmas is a special time and that age of wonder and magic goes so fast, we want our visitors to have fun with their kids and create those very special lasting happy memories.”
